Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Fats and Sugars

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Food Coloring

  • 1/2 cup red food coloring

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Combine wet and dry; add red food coloring if desired.
  • Roll out dough, cut into hearts, and place on baking sheet.
