A delicious tart combining crunchy ginger biscuit crust with sweet caramelized apples, perfect for dessert or special occasions.
Ingredients
Biscuit Crust
200gGinger Nut Biscuits(or other ginger biscuits)
110gButter (Unsalted, Melted)
Apple Filling
3piecesBraeburn Apples(or other tart apple)
15gCaster Sugar(or superfine sugar)
1.5tspLemon Juice
1/2tspGround Cinnamon
150mlDulce de Leche(or caramel sauce)
Instructions
Make the biscuit crust by blitzing biscuits into crumbs, mixing with melted butter, then pressing into a tart tin. Chill for 30-60 minutes.
Prepare the apple filling by slicing apples thinly, coating with cinnamon, and setting aside.
Spread 100ml of Dulce de Leche over the chilled crust, then layer apple slices in a circle, filling the center with more slices. Pour over melted butter, sugar, and lemon juice.
Preheat oven to 180°C. Bake the tart for 20 minutes, then add remaining Dulce de Leche and bake for another 10 minutes. Cool before serving.
Notes
Ensure the tart is completely cooled before removing from the tin to prevent breaking.
