Ingredients

Meat and Oils

  • 0.5 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Spices and Seasonings

  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp cumin
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Sauces and Condiments

  • 0.25 cup barbecue sauce

Bread and Cheese

  • 2 naan or flatbread naan or flatbread
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Vegetables

  • 0.5 small red onion (thinly sliced)
  • 0.5 sliced jalapeño
  • 0.25 cup canned black beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 0.25 cup corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned)

Herbs and Garnishes

  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 tbsp sour cream (optional)
  • 1 tbsp pickled red onions (optional)

Instructions 

  • Cook ground beef with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt until browned.
  • Spread barbecue sauce on naan or flatbread, then top with cooked beef, cheeses, and vegetables.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes until cheese melts and edges are crispy.
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro and optional sour cream and pickled red onions before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lime or hot sauce.
