A flavorful and easy-to-make shrimp bowl featuring a sweet and spicy honey garlic sauce served over fluffy jasmine rice.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

Grains

  • 1 cup jasmine rice

Sauces & Condiments

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Oils & Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper

Garnish & Extras

  • 2 green onions green onions, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water. Combine with 2 cups water, bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 15 minutes. Let sit covered for 5 minutes.
  • Mix honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, sesame oil, and lime juice in a bowl. Set aside.
  • Cook shrimp in a skillet with oil over medium-high heat, season with salt and pepper, 2-3 minutes per side until pink. Add sauce and cook 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  • Fluff rice, divide into bowls, top with shrimp and sauce, garnish with chopped green onions. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level.
