A rich and decadent pecan praline pie with a buttery crust and sweet, nutty filling.
Ingredients
Crust
1 1/4cupsall-purpose flour(plus extra for dusting)
2tablespoonsdark brown sugar(firmly packed)
1/3teaspoonsalt
8tablespoonsunsalted butter(cut into 1/4-inch pieces and chilled)
Filling
1/4cupdark brown sugar(firmly packed)
1teaspoonsalt
3largeeggs
1/4cupdark corn syrup
1tablespoonpure vanilla extract
2 to 4tablespoonsbourbon or liquor of your choice
2cupswhole pecans(toasted, cooled, and broken into small pieces)
Additional Butter
8tablespoonsunsalted butter(cut into 1/4-inch pieces and chilled)
3 to 4tablespoonsice water
Instructions
Prepare the crust by mixing flour, dark brown sugar, and salt. Cut in chilled butter until crumbly, then add ice water to form dough. Chill and roll out.
Pre-bake the crust at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes.
Mix brown sugar, salt, eggs, corn syrup, vanilla, bourbon, and pecans to make the filling. Pour into the pre-baked crust.
Bake the pie at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until set.
Let cool before serving. Optional: garnish with whipped cream or additional pecans.
Notes
For best flavor, toast pecans before adding to the filling.
