A deliciously nutty bread featuring toasted pecans and a sweet praline swirl, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans (toasted or untoasted)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans (toasted & cooled)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare loaf pan with parchment paper.
  • Make praline: melt butter with brown sugar and salt, stir in chopped pecans, then cool.
  • Mix dry ingredients; in another bowl, combine wet ingredients and then fold in toasted pecans.
  • Pour batter into pan, swirl two-thirds of praline mixture, then top with remaining praline and swirl gently.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, cover with foil, then bake 10-15 minutes more until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool for 15 minutes, then lift out of pan and peel parchment once cooled.

Notes

Ensure pecans are toasted for extra flavor, and do not overbake to keep the bread moist.
