This quick and easy stove-top flatbread requires no yeast and comes together in minutes, perfect for wraps or sides.
Ingredients
Dough
2
cups
all-purpose flour (or a 50/50 mix of all-purpose and whole wheat)
2
teaspoons
baking powder
1
teaspoon
salt
1
cup
plain yogurt (Greek or regular) or milk/water as a substitute
1
tablespoon
olive oil (plus a little extra for cooking)
Optional Add-ins
1
teaspoon
garlic powder, dried herbs, butter for brushing, or ghee
(optional)
Instructions
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and optional herbs in a bowl.
Stir in yogurt and olive oil; add water if dough is dry or more flour if sticky.
Knead briefly until smooth, then rest covered for 10-15 minutes.
Divide dough into 6-8 balls, roll into 6-7 inch rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.
Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat, cook each flatbread 1-2 minutes per side until golden.
Stack and brush with melted butter or ghee; serve warm.
Notes
Keep the dough covered while resting to prevent drying out.
