Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately, then combine.
Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cakes cool completely before frosting.
Prepare frosting by beating cream cheese, butter, shortening, and powdered sugar; add vanilla and optional almond extract.
Decorate with white chocolate chips and candy melts as desired.
Notes
For a thicker frosting, add instant Clearjel; can be omitted for a lighter texture.
