Lemon Garlic Pasta with Chicken

A flavorful and easy-to-make pasta dish featuring tender chicken, fresh lemon, and garlic, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 lemon juice of lemon
  • 8 ounces pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or linguine)

Additional ingredients for sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth or pasta water
  • 1 lemon juice of lemon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
  • 1 cup baby spinach (optional)
  • 0.25 cup capers (optional)

Instructions 

  • Pat chicken dry, season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Rest the chicken.
  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter, add garlic, and cook for 30 seconds. Add lemon juice, chicken broth, lemon zest, salt, and pepper; simmer 2 minutes.
  • Stir in cooked pasta, Parmesan, and toss to coat. Slice chicken and place on top. Garnish with parsley, cherry tomatoes, spinach, and capers if using.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine or more lemon juice.
