Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb flank or ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Base

  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1.5 cups sweet corn kernels
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil for sautéing corn

Herbs

  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar

Instructions 

  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil; marinate beef for 30 minutes or overnight.
  • Whisk mayonnaise, garlic powder, black pepper, and lemon juice; chill until serving.
  • Sear beef slices in a hot skillet until caramelized; set aside.
  • Sauté corn in butter or oil until charred; stir in herbs.
  • Assemble bowls with rice, beef, corn, and drizzle with sauce; garnish as desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef overnight and garnish with sesame seeds.
