Ingredients

Meat and Beans

  • 2 lbs 93% lean ground beef
  • 15 oz canned dark red kidney beans (rinsed and drained)
  • 15 oz canned black beans (rinsed and drained)

Vegetables and Aromatics

  • 1 large yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 green bell pepper green bell pepper (diced)

Liquids and Spices

  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef bone broth
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper

Instructions 

  • Cook the ground beef in a Dutch oven until browned, then drain excess fat.
  • Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened.
  • Stir in spices, then add tomatoes, broth, and beans; simmer for 35-40 minutes.

Notes

For extra flavor, top with fresh cilantro or a dollop of Greek yogurt.
