A flavorful and hearty bowl combining tender ground beef, aromatic garlic, and cheesy goodness, all served over perfectly cooked rice.

Ingredients

Rice

  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice (Rinse briefly before use.)
  • 3 cups low-sodium beef broth (Use to deglaze and simmer rice.)

Ground Beef

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 fat (Lean is preferred.)

Vegetables

  • 1 small diced onion (Cook until translucent.)
  • 4 cloves minced garlic (Add near end of browning.)

Dairy

  • 0.5 cup milk (Whole milk is preferred.)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar (Freshly shredded for best melt.)
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan, grated (Freshly grated for best flavor.)

Fats

  • 3 tbsp butter (Unsalted is preferred.)

Seasonings

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (Adds herbaceous flavor.)
  • as needed salt salt (Season throughout cooking.)
  • as needed pepper pepper (Freshly ground for brightness.)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (Optional, for garnish.)

Instructions 

  • Cook rice in beef broth until tender, then set aside.
  • Brown ground beef with diced onion; add garlic near end of cooking.
  • Stir in butter, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; cook until heated through.
  • Mix cooked rice into beef mixture, then top with cheddar and Parmesan; stir until melted.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast the rice slightly before cooking.
