A simple and delicious fig compote made with fresh figs, perfect for serving with desserts or breakfast.
Ingredients

vanilla extract (or vanilla essence)

Instructions
Cut the figs in half and scoop out the centres into a small saucepan.
Add lemon juice, vanilla extract, and cinnamon stick. Heat gently for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove the cinnamon stick and let the compote cool.
Transfer to a jar and chill in the fridge before serving.
Notes
This fig compote is best enjoyed within a few days and can be used as a topping for yogurt, pancakes, or desserts.
