Delight in these seasonal pumpkin pie bars with a maple pecan topping, perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour ((220 g))
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed ((170 g))
  • ½ cup brown sugar ((100 g))
  • cup pure maple syrup ((80 ml))

Pumpkin Filling

  • 1 ½ cups pumpkin puree ((340 g))
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted ((120 g))
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix flour, sugar, salt; cut in butter until coarse. Press into 9x13 pan.
  • Bake crust for 15 minutes until golden. Toast pecans in a skillet for 3-5 minutes; set aside.
  • Whisk pumpkin, maple syrup, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt until smooth. Pour over crust, sprinkle pecans.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until set. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For cleaner slices, dip knife in warm water between cuts.
