Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F. Prepare an 8-inch square baking dish with melted butter.
Mix flour, salt, and baking powder. Beat butter and sugar, then add egg, milk, and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients.
Gently fold in half of the berries into the batter, then pour into the baking dish.
Top with remaining berries and sprinkle with extra sugar. Bake for 40 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
Serve warm, optionally with ice cream. Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
