A quick and flavorful appetizer featuring shrimp spread on toasted bread, baked to perfection and topped with fresh basil.

Ingredients

Shrimp

  • 6 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined (I use raw shrimps)
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1.5 teaspoons grated garlic
  • 1.5 tablespoons thinly sliced scallions (about 2 stalks)
  • black pepper
  • baguette or ciabatta (see notes)
  • basil, thinly sliced

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Chop or process shrimp into small pieces; mix with mayonnaise, melted butter, garlic, scallions, and black pepper.
  • Slice bread into pieces no thicker than 1 inch and spread shrimp mixture on the cut side.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Top with basil and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh basil for the best flavor.
