A rich and flavorful pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp in a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 ounces spaghetti or linguine pasta
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • to taste Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

For serving

  • as needed Lemon wedges (for squeezing)

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter over medium-high heat. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then cook until pink and golden, about 2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium, add remaining butter, and sauté garlic until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream, simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes if using, season with salt and pepper. Add cooked pasta and shrimp, tossing to coat evenly.
  • Stir in chopped parsley, then serve immediately garnished with extra parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lemon juice just before serving.
