A rich and comforting skillet dish featuring tender beef, sautéed mushrooms, and a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1.5 lbs beef chuck or sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1.5 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Garnish

  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions 

  • Pat beef dry, season with salt and pepper.
  • Sear beef in a hot skillet until browned, then set aside.
  • Sauté mushrooms and onions, add garlic and thyme.
  • Sprinkle flour, cook briefly, then add beef broth, simmer to thicken.
  • Stir in cream and Worcestershire, return beef, simmer until tender.
  • Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, simmer longer or add a bit more flour.
