A hearty and flavorful dish combining ground beef, pasta, and chili spices for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lbs ground beef 80% lean
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 0.5 cup bell pepper diced
  • 3 cloves garlic diced

Seasoning

  • 1.25 oz chili seasoning mix (see notes for homemade seasoning)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes undrained
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth (can sub beef broth)
  • 15 oz can kidney beans drained
  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Garnish

  • to taste Fresh Parsley (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Sauté diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic until softened.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Stir in chili seasoning, tomato paste, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and broth; simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Cook macaroni separately until al dente, then drain.
  • Combine cooked macaroni with sauce, stir in cheese, heavy cream, milk, and seasonings; cook until cheese melts. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

For a homemade chili seasoning, mix chili powder, cumin, paprika, and oregano.
