Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour the cake pan.
Mix dry ingredients: flours, baking powder, salt, and ground clove.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in almond extract and orange zest.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and almond extract until stiff peaks form. Frost the cooled cake.
