This high-protein pasta bake combines lean beef, cottage cheese, and Italian cheeses for a hearty, satisfying meal that's easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Meat and Sauce
1 1/4poundsground sirloin or lean ground beef
1/2cupfinely chopped onion
3/4teaspoonkosher salt, divided
1/2teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper, divided
1/2teaspoongarlic powder, divided
32ouncesmarinara sauce
1poundhigh protein pasta, such as rigatoni or farfalle
1 1/2cupssmall curd cottage cheese or whipped cottage cheese
3cupsshredded Italian blend cheese
Garnish
to tastechopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet.
Cook beef with onion, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, and 1/4 tsp garlic powder until browned. Add marinara and simmer for 10 minutes.
Cook pasta until al dente, drain, and mix with sauce. Spread onto prepared baking sheet.
Mix cottage cheese with 1 cup Italian cheese, remaining salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dollop over pasta and top with remaining cheese.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden around edges.
